DB Cooper case solved?
The most elusive fugitive in the history of the United States could finally be brought to justice.
FBI investigators say they’ve been testing finger prints and running DNA tests on old cigarette butts left behind in the only unsolved hijacking case in American history. Reports suggest that the FBI is close to solving the case.
40 years ago a man calling himself Dan Cooper, or DB Cooper, hijacked a Northwest Airlines flight claiming he had dynamite. After demanding and receiving $200,000, he opened the airplane door mid-flight with a suitcase full of money and parachuted away, never to be heard from again.
FBI spokeswoman Ann Dietrich told The Daily Telegraph, ‘We do actually have a new suspect we’re looking at. It comes from a credible lead who came to our attention recently via a law enforcement colleague,’ she said. ‘The credible lead is somebody whose possible connection to the hijacker is strong, And the suspect is not a name that’s come up before.’
